The design process involved close collaboration with occupational therapists to develop customized pressure therapy garments tailored to individual rehabilitation needs. As a garment technician, responsibilities include measuring patients, drafting patterns, and constructing specialized garments that aid in recovery. Each piece is carefully fitted and adjusted to ensure optimal comfort and effectiveness.
Displayed on the mannequin are examples of pressure garments commonly used in burn rehabilitation, including a vest, sleeve, shorts, and anklet. These garments, constructed using industrial sergers and sewing machines, apply targeted pressure to graft and donor sites—helping to reduce scarring and support healing throughout the recovery process.
